The 23000 Crore 2BHK Houses for the poor is running far behind the schedule as the contractors are not coming forward to take up the construction as they feel that what the government has offered is not feasible. After a lot of wait, the government had withdrawn the infrastructure component.
Infrastructure Component for each 2-BHK colony includes water supply, electricity, approach & internal roads and drains, sewerage with infrastructure cost per house will not exceed Rs 1.25 lakh in rural and Rs 75,000 per house in urban areas.
The government will be bearing that and the contractors can simply confine their job to constructing the housing units. TRS government is hoping that the project will be completed by 2018 in case the Chief Minister decides to go for an early election.
